Microsoft Settled EU Case Over TV set top boxes
n this case, the regulatory arm of the EU had worried that Microsoft might talk European cable companies into buying Microsoft software for interactive TV set-top boxes. Not a big stretch of the imagination, since Microsoft owns stakes in several such cable companies. It didn't help Microsoft's case that at two of these companies it set up "technology boards" that affected buying decisions.
