Europe Expands Probe of Microsoft
In a two-pronged "statement of objections" sent to the company, regulators accuse Microsoft of illegally tying, or "bundling," its Windows Media Player software -- which enables users to download and play digital audio and video files -- into the Windows operating system. The regulators also restated allegations that Microsoft may have used illegal tactics to conquer the market for low-end server systems, which act as hosts for Web sites, data and applications that serve computer networks.
